Since first working with the media of the natural environment in 2011, Lyon has envisioned a world in which plants are seen differently. As assets to our future, as partners in our existence, as essential building partners of the very substrates we walk upon and breathe. She dreams of turning some of the world's most struggling environments into some of the most beautiful & bountiful. Lyon devotes resources to careful study and observation of natural Mediterranean, California and Pacific North Western climates to develop templates for native plant communities that can be adapted to home gardens and broader residential planning projects.
Below is some of the work produced from her pioneering studies in Southern California ecologies. Plant combinations designed to help slow drought, sequester carbon, restore habitat and feed and comfort humanity.
